DC Caribbean Carnival, Inc, presents its 19th Annual DC Carnival Extravaganza on Saturday June 25, 2011.

The DC Carnival Parade will be held in Washington, DC on Saturday June 25 from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm along the Georgia Avenue business corridor and terminating at Barry Place, NW across from the Howard University Campus.

The Caribbean Mardi Gras Style Parade featuring thirty (30) participating groups representing the Caribbean, Latin America and the Diaspora will transform Georgia Avenue into a “Caribbean Burbon Street” with the sights and sounds of the Caribbean as thousands of spectators assemble to watch more than 3,000 masqueraders parade in colorful costumes portraying different themes, dancing to the sound of Calypso, Soca, Reggae, African, Haitian, Latin and Streelband music. This parade attracts thousands of visitors from all over the United States, Canada, London, Africa and the Caribbean.

Activities will be staged at the festival site at the Howard Center Parking facility at Georgia Avenue and Bryant Street, NW on Saturday June 25 from 12:00 noon until 8:00 pm. The venue will be transformed into a “Tropical Arena” with food, craft adn live performances from local and international artists.

Admission is $10.00. Seniors and children under 12 years Free.

DC Carnival is an annual event produced by DC Caribbean Carnival, Inc, a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax exempt organization based in the District of Columbia.
