The 1st Annual Jerk and Caribbean Culture Festival will be one of the biggest family oriented events in Orlando, Florida. The event will be held on October 28, 2012 at the Orlando Festival Park, from 12- 8.pm. This event is being organized by well known Entrepreneur and Promoter Damian Tater of “Full- A Vybez Inc.”.
Tater is a well-known businessman and promoter extraordinaire within the South Florida region and he is noted for having one of the longest running Jerk Festival events in the West Palm Beach area. One such event is the Annual Palm Beach Jerk and Caribbean Culture Festival, held in Palm Beach for 9 consecutive years as of summer 2012. As one of the largest Caribbean Festivals, this event has been known for the exciting “Jerk Cook Off Competition”, where some of Florida’s “Master Chefs” and “Restaurateurs”, get to show off their cooking skills by creating exotic Caribbean influenced dishes. At the last event patrons were treated to a live concert which featured Artistes such as Baby Cham and award winning Jamaican Artiste Sanchez. This event has come a long way since its inception stage in 2004, as it is known to attract patrons from different ethnic background and has seen crowds as large as 15,000 people . The 1st Annual Orlando Jerk and Caribbean Culture Festival will complement the West Palm Beach Staging of this event. Patrons can look forward to the very popular and exciting Jerk Cook-Off Competition. There will also be fun filled activities for the kids such as: Face painting, Bounce House, Clowns and Magicians. Patrons can also expect to see A Vibrant Fashion Show which features some of the most exotic models who were born to Rock The Runway. A staple of any Full-A-Vybez Inc. production is the live Concert which features authentic Live Bands, Sound Systems and artist from the Caribbean . Headlining the show for this year is the multi-talented Jamaican Reggae Artiste Freddie McGregor. McGregor is said to be one of Reggae’s most durable and soulful singers and has been around since the 1960s. Also headlining the show is popular Dancehall Artiste Cham popularly known as Baby Cham. Cham has had numerous hits and is popular known for his hit song such as “Vitamin S” and log running hit song combination with Alicia Keys. Also included in the performance line-up is Jamaican Singer Terry Linen of the breakthrough hit “No Time to Linger”, finally patrons are sure to have a grand time with the very comedic and veteran artist “Professor Nuts” .
The event will be held at the Orlando Festival Park, 2911 East Robinson Street conveniently located at Colonial Drive and the 408 Expressway by the Orlando Executive Airport .Gates open from 12 p.m. 8 pm. The show begins at 3.pm. sharp and Patrons are asked to come out early and bring the entire family. Tickets are $10 per person in advance, $20.00 at the Gate and Children under 12 are Free .
