2004 proved to be a bumper year for tourism in Jamaica

According to the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO), Jamaica’s tourist arrivals increased by 4.8%.
There were at total of 1,326,918 foreign stopover arrivals, an increase of more than 60,000. Visitors from the U.S. were 996,131; from Canada 105,623; from Europe 241,925.

Both the CTO and Ministry of Industry and Tourism expect a similar performance in 2005 with an 8.0%
anticipated increase in airline arrivals to reach 1.5 mm visitors.

There are seventeen commercial airlines flying to Jamaica. With 51% of the passengers, Air Jamaica
ranks as no.1. World Travel Awards voted Air Jamaica “Best Airline to the Caribbean” for the past 6 years.
