3rd Annual WEST Conference: WEST Inc. Takes On Sexual Abuse, The U.S. Educational System, And Family Finances

Women of Excellence, Strength and Tenacity Inc. (WEST), official host of the Annual WEST conference, has announced its itinerary of events and select panelists. Now in its third consecutive year, WEST Inc. plans to address current issues involving “tenacity” as its main theme for the conference. The day- long event entitled, The 3rd Annual WEST Conference, “Tenacity: Triumph Over Trials” will include workshops, forums, presentations, activities for children/youth ages (8- 16), special guest appearances and an exclusive networking reception following an inspirational keynote message.

On Saturday, March 31st, WEST Inc. will host a day of events. The participating panelists include radio talk show host Liz Black of WBLS and Kelly Smith Beaty, Season 10 Winner of the hit Reality TV series The Apprentice. Special guest appearances from NYC politicians and media personalities among others will continue throughout the day.

The workshop topics include : Chalk it up: The Report Card on Education, Declaring Financial Independence, From a Males Perspective: Building Quality Relationships, Should I Stay or Should You Go: Domestic Violence Awareness, Women’s Health and Wellness and Women in the Media: Miss representation. The special workshops for young girls include Doing Art Together and CEO of Me.

The second half of the conference will feature a “Women of The Year” Award Luncheon and a dynamic Keynote address. The networking reception will feature many of the speakers as well as community vendors.

The 3rd Annual WEST Conference, sponsored in part by The City College of New York will take place at the North Academic Center at City College New York: 160 Convent Avenue (@ 138th Street) from 9:00am to 2:00pm EST.
