Reeling from his 2011 JUNO and EME awards nominations, the accolades continues to rise on Tony Anthony and his debut album “Million Chance”. He has just been nominated in 4 categories in the Reggae Music Achievement Awards to be held on June 4th 2011 in Toronto, Canada.
Tony Anthony is nominated for “Best Male vocalist”, “Artist of the year”, the coveted “Song of the year” title, and his debut album “Million Chance” is nominated in the “Album of the year” category.
Since its release in 2010, his album has received rave reviews worldwide and has appeared and topped several charts. The album went number one in Jamaica and topped the Canadian reggae countdown for several weeks. “Million Chance” stayed 8 month on the top 50 recommended reggae album chart in Europe and peaked at number 5. It is currently climbing the Italian reggae album chart presently sitting at number 11.
‘Torn,’ the first single released from the album, gave Tony Anthony his first number one hit in Jamaica. ‘Bad News,’ the second single, has already reached number one status in Canada, is currently number 3 on the Richie B JMC top 25 reggae music chart, and holds the number 6 position on the Caribbean top 30 music charts in the Virgin Islands. Another single “Love you so much” is presently number 4 on the Italian reggae singles chart.
Tony Anthony is one of the first Canadian Reggae artistes in years to quickly carve his name on the international scene in countries such as Gambia, Kenya, England, France, Italy, Germany, Slovania, The Caribbean, Jamaica and USA to name a few.
