All through my first 3 years of doing Spanish at high school as Jamaica College I “skylarked” and learned nothing.  I remember asking myself at one point. Why do I need Spanish?  Why do need a second language? I never knew I would I move South Florida where Spanish is the dominant second language. Now based on the projections of the census the US population is becoming more Hispanic. Today’s story on how Univision is the now one of the fastest growing networks drives home this point even more…do I have regrets for “loafting” in Spanish class yes…How do we remedy this maybe we make Jamaican patois a language..lol
