
Children between the ages of 6 and 15 years are being given additional time to submit their entries in the 2015 Jamaica Children’s Gospel Song Competition. The Competition closes entry on Friday, January 30, 2015.
Described as the premier Children Gospel Song Competition in Jamaica, the Competition was incepted over ten years ago by the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC). The Children’s Gospel Song Competition offers invaluable experience and talent development while participants have an opportunity to win over a million in cash and prizes.
Individuals, schools, churches and community groups who are interested in entering the Competition can access entry forms from the JCDC website, www.jcdc.gov.jm, its Head Office at 3-5 Phoenix Avenue in Kingston or Parish Offices across the island.
Participants can compete with original or cover songs in the solo, choir and ensemble categories and can utilize any genre of music to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The JCDC conducts workshops and seminars to enhance the talent of participants. The workshops/seminars cover areas concerning skill enhancement in singing, song writing and best practices in performance standards.
