The Toronto African Film and Music Festival (TAFMF) is proud to present a premier fashion show on Saturday October 20, 2012, where African inspired fashion houses including Emua Fashions, Ophelia’s Closet and Benie Boo will be on display.
TAFMF is dedicated to celebrating African culture and history. TAFMF showcases the works of filmmakers and musicians from over 50 countries, in Africa, with the emphasis on film and music produced within the African continent. This year the festival will include a dinner and fashion show to showcase the African cultural expression in fashion.
Event manager, Brenda Foreman says, “this is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the diverse fashion traditions from Africa, we are especially excited to have Emua Fashions taking part in our fashion show”.
Toronto based fashion designer Cynthia Kio, the creative director for Emua Fashions has been successful at harnessing and intertwining African traditions and culture in her fashion designs. She has successfully designed and produced numerous collections which she has had the opportunity to showcase around the world.
