The highly anticipated Miss Jamaica Festival Queen Grand Coronation will be staged this Saturday, July 19 at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre in Kingston starting at 8:00 p.m. The competition is being held under the theme, “Jamaican Women…Shaping Our Culture And Our Nation”.
Thirteen talented and creative young ladies will compete for the coveted title of Miss Jamaica Festival Queen 2014 and attractive prizes and awards including $500,000 in cash prize, along with other gift items and gift packages for the winner. Sponsors including Soft Sheen-Carson, Excelsior, Singer Jamaica, VMBS, Stayfree, Its Really Great Yogurt, Cool Cids, ChriStar Villas, Kingston and St. Andrew Corporation and SpringTime will also reward the contestants with prizes and gift packages.
The Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) Director of Marketing and Public Relations, Stephen Davidson noted that this year’s Grand Coronation is something to look forward to as “the 2014 Parish Queens are impressive and brilliant young ladies who are determined to make their own stamp on the competition while contributing to community and national development. ”
As one of the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission’s signature programmes, the Miss Jamaica Festival Queen Show remains quite popular attracting talented, creative and intellectual young ladies who have gone on to make indelible impact on nation building.
Tickets for the Coronation are available at the Portmore Mall Pharmacy, Sangster’s Book Store (Mall Plaza, Portmore, Sovereign, King Street), JCDC Offices and online, www.jcdcjamaica.com. Adults can access tickets at a cost of $900 pre sold, $1000 at the gate and children $400 while public sector workers are able to purchase tickets at $800 with identification.
Reggae sensation Romain Virgo will headline the entertainment for the Show.
