It is all systems go for ‘Groovin In The Park,’ the fully loaded reggae and R&B concert that takes place at Roy Wilkins Park in Queens, NY on Sunday July 1, 2012.
Dubbed as the hottest outdoor concert in the tri-state for the summer, the premium event features heavyweight headliners Gladys Knight, Boyz 11 Men, Beres Hammond, Jimmy Cliff, Beenie Man and a few upcoming local acts, who will be given a greatly valued opportunity to open the independence weekend show.
According to Christopher Roberts CEO of Groovin Inc, parent company of ‘Groovin In The Park,’ “the marketing campaign is on schedule and going extremely well.
“We have gone to great lengths to package a powerful and memorable event for this summer, and we are indeed very happy to have market leader WBLS, 107.5FM on board to get the message out about the concert. WBLS is the loudest radio voice to urban African-Americans in New York and the high call volume to our office daily confirms this” he said.
Roberts has also engaged a number of independent radio producers at WVIP, 93.5FM and news publications in New York to help get the word out to the Caribbean Diaspora.
“Overall I am pleased with the promotions so far. The plans is to double up our efforts in the last few days leading up to the concert” he indicated.
The addition of top tier dancehall don Beenie Man aka Moses Davis, who will once again be able to perform in the United States has also excited music lovers in the tri-state. Beenie Man will make a triumphant return to the USA for his first performance at Groovin In The Park concert on Sunday, July 1.
“Music fans in the New York tri-state area have been waiting for a long time for the opportunity to see Beenie Man perform live here in the USA again. He is a supremely talented entertainer and we are very happy that he will be again able to showcase his talents on stage in New York” Roberts said.
