Former Miami Heat superstar and 2014 Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer Alonzo Mourning and the Mourning Family Foundation (MFF) presented the first annual Zo’s Winter Groove – the sister event to Zo’s Summer Groove of years past. The three-day “Groove” featured a Family Health & Wellness Day, Comedy Show, and Golf Tournament, hosted by Alonzo and Tracy Mourning, Dec. 27th – 29th, 2014. According to Bill Diggs, President of the Mourning Family Foundation, the event raised $1.2 million.

In recognition of Alonzo’s recent appointment to President Obama’s Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition, Zo’s Family Health & Wellness Groove invited families to converge on Miramar Regional Park for events such as a Foot Locker 5k run/walk, health screenings, fun zones, mini sports clinics (football and basketball) and fitness classes. The free event, open to the public, was full of activities built around supportive programming for families, including healthy living, arts, crafts, and an array of activities for kids of all ages.
