Having seen the nepotisitic and clique behaviour of politics in Jamaica and how it has destroyed our social and economic order we think that a paramount shift is required in how we proceed in the future.
The areas we are focusing on are
1. Election Financing
2. Selection of candidates for Public Office
3. Research and development
We have decided that an Extraordinary Movement for Equal Rights and Justice EMERJ is required to ensure that we can give our pursuit of happiness a much better chance of becoming a reality.
We have deliberately decided that EMERJ is not a political organisation but a professional body set with the task that will include among other activities select candidates for general and parish council elections and provide financing for candidates thus selected. We intend to select candidates using transparent and methodical processes.
The financing of these activities of EMERJ will come solely from individual financing. We will not accept funding from gouping, organisations, companies but $50.00 JMD weekly individual contributions from Jamaicans who share our vision. There will be no membership roster but a core management group which will coordinate all activities of EMERJ but the public will be able to see all our records and decisions online so that they can make contributions to the management process.
There are over 1 million Jamaicans who can participate in elections in Jamaica and we are seeking to get as much of these contributing to EMERJ so that we can begin the business of rescuing Jamaica through unfettered and sensible leadership.
We hope that you will tell your friends and family both in Jamaican and the diaspora to contribute to this effort through individual financing and ideas.
