Awake Nation announced the change of venue today for their annual For The Love of 4:20 Festival featuring Julian Marley & the Uprising Band to be held this Easter Sunday. The new venue is the popular The Knitting Factory in Reno on North Virginia Street. This show is 18+ and begins at 8pm.
Promoter Cody L. Bass stated, “We are in true disbelief that we have to announce a venue change at this late date. The City of South Lake Tahoe denied Awake Nations the permit on private property that had been granted for the past three years without a single incident. They (the City) have threatened to shut down our dispensary if we hold the 4:20 TWC (Cannabis Cup.) We won’t back down though and will continue to negotiate with them and prove the legality of our events.
Awake Nation announced today that the music portion of this annual celebration has relocated to The Knitting Factory in Reno. He says, “The show will go on, and it will be guaranteed to be a good one. Any tickets purchased for the original venue will be immediately refunded.” The new venue has a ticket price that is $10 less than the Tahoe venue price so ticket buyers can repurchase tickets and save money.
The ticket price for The Knitting Factory is $25 online or at the door. The show begins at 8:00pm with positive energy and beautiful beats until 4am. Performers include Julian Marley & The Uprising Band, Perfect, Iqulah Rastafari, Jah Warrior Shelter Hi-Fi, Mr. Rodgers, Roommate, and Christafari.
