Aria was a name given by her father, Owen Morgan a very gifted traditional gospel musician who must have been discerning when he named his second daughter of three ‘an opera solo’. He was very passionate about music for his daughters and it was evidenced by long hours of classical piano and voice lessons given to them all.
With her background being one of strong gospel influence, Aria and her sisters started entering national church talent competitions, with Aria performing in the solo categories. There was always that extra energy and confidence that would emanate when seeing Aria in performance and this continues to this day especially also being a professional dancer.
Aria is from a family of teachers whose focus was of course on academics and career. She studied at the University of Technology in Jamaica, University of Reading in the U.K. and the University of New Orleans in the US where she studied up to a Masters level in Property Economics, Valuation Surveying as well as Business respectively.
Although she has been working with the government for all of her professional life, she has always maintained her involvement in music and dance touring locally and internationally. She later got exposure to singing reggae music when she started doing background vocals for artistes such as Ryan Mark, DJ Nicholas and Christopher Martin in studio.
When witnessing Aria in performance it is obvious that ‘she was born for the stage’ and ‘she makes the stage come alive the moment she steps onto it’. Aria will accomplish anything she wants to because the moment she decided to take her music to the next level, she started seriously writing immediately.
Aria has used a combination of genres, neo soul and reggae as well as dancehall to communicate her warm and pleasant but excited, strong, infectious, intriguing and dramatic personality. Since she officially launched her music career, she has released five singles so far which include “Goose Pimples”, “Fulltime Love”, “Sweet Loving”, a Christmas track “Come Back To Me” and the most recent “Trust Mi (Don’t Watch Mi)”. The songs have all been received with positive reviews and have been getting airplay locally and internationally. It is said that Aria will be the next Jamaican female sensation to explode on the international music scene, evidenced by the progress she has be making since the start of her journey.
She has been performing at various corporate functions and has been apart of the live music scene locally. Her latest accomplishments include being signed to an independent label; Realm Music Group located in Florida as well as the completion of her debut album entitled ‘Fulltime Love’. Look out for great things from this upcoming artiste.
