Arnold Bertram leads talks on “The Drumblair Effect”, July 4th, 2013, Mandeville

Author, Historian and former Minister of Government, Arnold Bertram will give the main address at the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission’s 50th Anniversary Cultural Dialogue Series, which is being held in collaboration with The Manchester Chamber of Commerce.. The Dialogue will be held at the Golf View Hotel in Mandeville on Thursday July 4 at 6:00 p.m.

The topic for discussion is “Drumblair and the growth of the National Movement”. The JCDC and the Manchester Chamber of Commerce commemorate the 120th birthday of the Rt. Excellent Norman Washington Manley a national hero of Jamaica.

Additionally, Mr. Ainsely Henreiques, Chairman of the JNHT and Norman Manley Foundation and Mr. Delroy Gordon, Acting Executive Director, JCDC will make contributions to the discussion  and members of the audience will be invited to share their thoughts on the topic as well as pose questions to the main discussant.  

This Cultural Dialogue is the first of a series being held in recognition of JCDC’s 50th year. The series aims to increase awareness of the contributions of some of Jamaica’s foremost icons to our rich cultural heritage and national development.
