New York, NY – Dancehall deejay Assassin released his second album Gully Sit’n amid much fanfare at chic Manhattan venue Sway, last Tuesday. Club patrons overflowed into the streets as industry heavyweights and fans turned out to join the celebration.
Known for his unique delivery style of chatting and unorthodox self-ban of violent and drug-infused lyrics, the emerging star is only just beginning to stake his claim in musical history. Currently he has two tracks from the new album sitting pretty on reggae charts around the world – “No Boring Gal” and new entry “Sissy.”
Known as the “intelligent deejay,” Assassin raised eyebrows when he embarked on an educational journey, simultaneously pursuing music and a degree in business.
The Caribbean launch of Gully Sit’n kicks off on Tuesday, September 11 with a press conference at Terra Nova Hotel, followed by a live performance and artist showcase at Asylum nightclub on Saturday, September 15 – both in Kingston, Jamaica.
