Dunn’s River Falls Voted Best Tourist Attraction For Second Year By Visitors In 2009 “Best Of Jamaica” Survey

Dunn’s River Falls in Ocho Rios was again voted “Best Tourist Attraction” by visitors in the “Best of Jamaica” annual survey for 2009 conducted by Jamaicans.com, the premier online community for Jamaicans, visitors, and lovers of Jamaica.  The online survey, now in its tenth year, gathered the views of over 40,000 participants in the following categories: Tourist Life, Jamaica Life, Food, Entertainment, Restaurants, Jamaica Online, and Recreation. 

As is customary, the annual Best of Jamaica survey provides results for the island of Jamaica by online polling in various locations across the United States including Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach, Miami, Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Boston, Washington DC; Atlanta, New Jersey, New York, Philadelphia and Los Angeles.

In the Tourist Life Category, visitors to Jamaica were polled in a variety of areas and asked to name their favorite tourist attraction, hotel, villa, wedding locations, craft market and tee-shirt shops. The survey was completed by Jamaicans.com forum participants who have experienced these Jamaican hot spots.

According to Jamaica’s Director of Tourism John Lynch, “No one knows Jamaica better than those who have experienced it. We are pleased that the Jamaicans.com community of Jamaicans and those who’ve fallen in love with the island have such a forum where persons planning a Jamaican getaway can get an insight into what the island has to offer.”

Founder and webmaster of Jamaicans.com, Xavier Murphy said the website is proud to celebrate the tenth year of the Best of Jamaica survey, noting that the idea stemmed from a desire to share the Jamaican culture with the rest of the world. “We sent our survey to over 40,000 users around the world this year and got a tremendous response.  Visitors to the island love the idea that they can see users’ choices for the best places when they visit Jamaica.”
