The Caribbean Media Exchange (CMEx) has announced an August 8 deadline for scholarship and fellowship applications for its 20th session in the Fall.
With a stroke or two of their pens, reporters, editors and young people could secure scholarships and fellowships to attend one of the most sought-after media gatherings in the Caribbean.
Now in its 10th anniversary year, the 20th Caribbean Media Exchange on Sustainable Tourism (CMEx) will focus the next symposium on public relations.
In partnership with New York University, CMEx will introduce the Caribbean public relations industry to the latest in top notch research to help practitioners promote sustainable tourism development.
In addition to discussing media relations, social media and crisis communications, topics which affect the current state of the industry such as airlift, fuel prices, the environment, tourism linkages and tapping emerging markets will also be examined.
The non-profit CMEx is finalizing the venue for the next symposium which seeks to harness the energy and vigor of the media, young scholars, fellows and Caribbean diaspora leaders.
CMEx is an interactive networking forum which allows journalists and young leaders from the Caribbean, North America, Latin America and Europe to interact with development specialists and representatives of the hospitality, civil society and government sectors.
Journalists and editors – and youth – can apply for a limited number of scholarships and fellowships. Scholarships cover airfare, accommodation and registration, while fellowships cover accommodation and registration.
