Jamaican pilot, 23 year old Barrington Irving, is on a world mission to become the youngest person and first black pilot to fly around the world solo. He took off on March 23 from the Opa-Locka Airport in South Florida.
Barrington Irving has made it to Dubai after a snowy snag in Canada delayed his mission to fly around the earth and a sand storm in Egypt. He expects to cross India on Saturday, then travel through Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Japan. Then he will cross the Pacific Ocean to Alaska and head back to the USA.
His travels are being tracked on the Web site experienceaviation.org
The mission of Experience Aviation is to address the significant shortage of youth pursuing careers in aviation by introducing economically deprived students to the world of aviation and aerospace, providing an introduction to the career opportunities in the industry, and leveraging existing resources within the community.
