As most of you know, Barrington Irving will be arriving in Houston on Saturday from Denver, after flying solo around most of the globe so far. There will be a public welcome and greeting opportunity at the 1940 Air Terminal Museum adjacent to Hobby Airport (off Telephone Road) about 1 PM.
You are also invited to a private reception for Barrington Irving at the University Hilton hotel on the campus of the University of Houston, Saturday June 23 at 6 to 8:30 PM in Baron’s Restaurant on the first (ground) floor. This is a joint undertaking of the Jamaica Foundation of Houston, the Honorary Jamaican Consulate of Houston and the University of Houston. There will be an opportunity to have a one-on-one conversation with Barrington and give him your best wishes for the successful completion of his round-the-world journey as he leaves on the last leg of his trip for Miami.

In addition, you can read more about this remarkable young man and his bold adventure at his personal web site:

If you are able to attend the arrival reception at 1 PM, be sure to bring some young people with you. We are sure they will be impressed and inspired by Barrington.
We apologize for the short notice and informality of this invitation. We only knew with some certainty of the arrival date in Houston this morning, due to weather uncertainty throughout the entire journey. However, we look forward to having you celebrate with us at 1 PM at the 1940 Air Terminal Museum, and again at 6 PM at the Hilton on U of H campus, 4800 Calhoun in Houston, only 4 miles from Hobby airport!
Blessings,
Andy Adams
