Bringing Back ‘Zoom Zoom’

Jamaican veteran racer Peter Rae is hosting a fundraising event to rebuild his race car affectionately called “Zoom Zoom”. The event dubbed “Zoom Zoom: Road to Redemption” will be held on Friday, February 13 at the Palisados Go Kart Track in Kingston.
 
Peter Rae racer and owner of Peter Rae Motor Sports said “Last November at the Caribbean Motor Racing Championship in Guyana, I had an accident with a fellow driver and my car Zoom Zoom was totaled. I am basically hosting the event to raise money to fix Zoom Zoom because I haven’t been able to compete since the accident.”
 
In the Caribbean’s motor sport community Peter ‘Zoom Zoom’ Rae is a driver like no other, he is well respected and has been racing before Dover Raceway was built in Jamaica 25 years ago. He is a top notch driver that is known and recognized for his entertaining the public with his style and strategies on the track. He is definitely a big drawing card at every race day at Dover. His car: ‘Zoom Zoom,’ has garnered much attention and has a big hit on tracks around the Caribbean and his performances have captured the hearts of many.
 
This legendary racer has given so much to the local racing community and has also achieved a great deal. Peter has served as President of the Jamaica Race Drivers Club (2007) and President of the Jamaica Karting Association (2010 and 2011). Peter Rae has won several local and international karting championships dating back to 1988 as well as won numerous class championships at Dover since its inception in 1989. His accolades include two time winner of Cayman’s international motor racing events (1997 and 1999), 2012 Thundersport Champion.
 
Peter also said “When I’m racing especially internationally, I am doing what I love and not only representing myself but representing my country. Zoom Zoom and I really want to get back to entertaining our fans locally and regionally.”

Zoom Zoom: Road to Redemption begins at 8:00PM on Friday, February 13 2015 at the Palisadoes Go Kart Track. The contribution to bringing back Zoom Zoom is $1000. Patrons will dance to the musical libations of the Rockwildaz Sound Crew & friends. Patrons will have the opportunity to have photo opps with Peter Rae and Zoom Zoom, win prizes and surprises. The event is being brought to you in partnership with; Adrenaline Rush Energy Drink, DHL, Epping Oil, Spanish Court Hotel, Myx Moscato, Audigier Vodka, Event Solutions, Skunk Nation, MTF Security, Xsomo, Black Butterfly Media and the event is being executed by Rockwildaz Events Management.
