The Honourable Orette Bruce Golding, former Prime Minister of Jamaica, will be the presenter at The CIN Lecture Series in New York at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture on Tuesday October 22nd, 2013 at 7pm.
Bruce Golding gave 35 years of service in the Parliament of Jamaica from the early age of 24. Founder and first President of the National Democratic Movement, Bruce Golding was elected Leader of the Jamaica Labour Party in 2005 and in 2007 he was elected as Jamaica’s eighth Prime Minister. He served for 4 years before his resignation and retirement in 2011. He led the Jamaica Labour Party to victory in 2007 after they were in Opposition to the Peoples National Party for 19 years.
Considered by many as one of Jamaica’s greatest orators and finest political operators, Bruce Golding’s topic for this year’s Lecture Series will be “Jamaica’s Challenges, Opportunities and Imperatives”.
