Florida Officials Welcome Business Expo – Central Florida’s First Caribbean American Business Expo Conference in Orlando from June 1-3

A number of leading Government officials will be among the speakers at the grand opening ceremony of Central Florida’s first Caribbean-American Business Expo and Conference in Orlando, Florida. The expo and conference, to be held June1-3, 2006 at the Central Florida Fair and Exposition Park, will be officially opened on Thursday, June1, at 5.30 pm.

Several of these elected officials have already endorsed this event since they realize and appreciate the potential benefits this opportunity provides for business, investments, tourism and long term economic development for the State of Florida as well as its Caribbean neighbors.

Florida Governor Jeb Bush, in his welcome message to participants, praised the upcoming event for its goal in furthering the development of investment and trade. He noted that Florida has a remarkable business climate and the event has the potential to expand business relationships and create even greater economic diversity.

“It is my pleasure to welcome all attending Central Florida’s Caribbean Sun’s First Caribbean American Business Expo and Conference in Orlando. This year’s theme, Developing the Florida Caribbean strategic Link, expresses the intent of the conference to assist both local and statewide businesses in showcasing their goods and services to visiting businesses from around the Caribbean region. Florida has a remarkable business climate and the potential to create even greater economic diversity. Your goal of furthering the development of investment, trade and business relationships will expand this diversity,” Governor Bush said.

Senator Gary Siplin of District nineteen (19) expressed his pleasure and expectation that the Business Expo and Conference will establish mutually beneficial trade, tourism and investment relationships between the State of Florida and the members of the Caribbean region. He was especially pleased that Central Florida’s first Caribbean-American Business Expo and Conference will also be commemorating the first Caribbean Heritage Month in the United States.

“I am pleased, to welcome all those who will be visiting us for this Expo and conference. Central Florida is a rapidly growing market which offers limitless opportunities for mutually beneficial trade, tourism, investment, real estate and other business enterprises and entrepreneurs to take full advantage of this event. Especially monumental, will be the commemoration of the first observance of Caribbean Heritage month in the United States,” Senator Siplin said.

Mayor Richard Crotty of Orange County welcomes the event for the knowledge and insights it will impart to the many attendees. The seminars will highlight the opportunities and resources available to business owners in Orange County. He noted that Orange County had the strongest economy in Florida and is committed to providing the resources to encourage the growth and development of businesses in the county.

“The conference will give you insight about doing business in Orange County. Orange County Government provides resources that stimulate participation of local, small, minority and women-owned businesses in providing goods and services to the County.

I applaud you for your participation in this great conference,” Mayor Crotty said.

Mayor Buddy Dyer of the City of Orlando welcomes the attendees and observes that the Expo and Conference will allow them to notonly showcase their goods and services, but also explore the opportunities for investments, collaboration and networking in the “City Beautiful.”

“This conference provides an opportunity to explore business enterprise in Central Florida. With nearly $2 billion in residential, retail, office, educational and government development planned, proposed or under construction, now more than ever before is the time to live, work, play, learn and invest in the “City Beautiful.” I hope your event is most memorable and very successful,” Mayor Dyer said.
