Caribbean Association In China Donates Christmas Gifts To Poor Migrant Kids In Shanghai

The Caribbean Association in China (CAC) along with other donor organizations, partnered with the Giving Tree Organization that donated over 15000 gift bags of new, warm clothes, shoes, toys and school supplies to poor migrant kids and orphaned children in Shanghai and other areas of China. This year the CAC registered the Changlin Migrant School into the program, which ensured that all 704 students in the school received a gift bag with items specifically chosen for them.

Since its inception in 2007, The Association has had a long-standing relationship with the Changlin School. The members and friends of the CAC have volunteered to teach the children English, educating them about the Caribbean, sponsoring gifts, taking them on excursions to museums and this year, hosting of group of 30 kids to a VIP tour of the Shanghai World Expo. In addition to ensuring that all the children received a Christmas gift bag this year, the CAC members and friends personally shopped for 85 gift bags bringing joy to the lives of these poor kids and sharing the true meaning of Christmas.
