Positive Tourism Network in association with the Caribbean Health Tourism & Spa Conference demonstrates its commitment to health and wellness through its philosophy of lifestyle transformation through conscious use of thoughts, words and food. Our vision of healing our minds, body and spirit through thoughts, words, and food has led to the creation of a vegetarian-only event for health conscious people of the Caribbean, thus the formation and launch of the Caribbean Veggie Fest 2008.

Veggie Fest 2008 will be held Saturday and Sunday March 1 and 2, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.at the fabulous Rhodes Hall Plantation located in Green Island, Hanover. Entrance to the event is FREE.

The Festival will focus on every conceivable type of vegetarian food available in the Caribbean including five star gourmet preparations, raw foods, healthy juices, natural pies, natural herbs & spices, natural wines (yam & ginger wines).

Exhibiters will include vegetarian restaurants, vegetarian food purveyors, juice makers, natural seasoning producers, and a farmers market.

This Veggie Fest 2008 is strictly dealing with earth-grown derived foods which will be prepared and exhibited. Examples of these are: ackee gourmet, vegetarian pies, cassava & potato pudding, fruit & vegetable juices of all kinds, vegetable-based ice cream, finger-licking vegetarian sandwiches and burgers, tasty and delicious vegetarian soups, vegetarian wraps that will challenge any meal of the day, energy juices, exciting garden salads, vegetarian pizza, vegetable run-down and vegetarian one-pot cooking.

Theo Chambers, having conceptualized the festival said “I have long held this vision of creating a veggie festival where people can eat wholesome and satisfying foods. Where hoteliers and restaurateurs become more conscious of vegetarian needs, thus exposing them to a variety of healthy menu choices.”

The festival will facilitate an open communication network with the sharing of ideas amongst participants.

We are proud to announce that this entire project will be under the management of Tankia Williams, Vice President of Caribbean Veggie Fest. Email address: [email protected] . Telephone number: 876-421-1269 (Mobile) or 876-957-9243 office.
