It is time again for the Caribbean Bar Association, Central Florida Chapter’s Third Annual Barristers Ball and Silent Auction. This year’s ball will be held on June 2nd, 2007 beginning at 7:00 pm at the Wyndham Orlando, Resort in Orlando Florida.
This “Black Tie” annual event is specifically coordinated to usher in the local, national and international celebration of June as “Caribbean – American Heritage Month”. This year’s ball will celebrate the accomplishments of Caribbean women and is themed: “Brown Girl in the Ring:
Caribbean Women in Motion.”
In addition to featuring a full Steel Pan Orchestra, a cocktail hour, dinner and fabulous Caribbean cultural entertainment, music and dancing, one of the
highlights of the evening will be the keynote address, which will be delivered by guest speaker, Ms. Wendy Fitzwilliam, Miss Trinidad & Tobago
(1998) and Miss Universe (1998). Ms. Fitzwilliam is the second Trinidadian (and was the third black woman) to hold the Miss Universe title. She is
also an accomplished attorney and United Nations Goodwilll Ambassador. She has hosted segments of “Wild On…” for E! Entertainment Television and the
Miss Universe Special for the same network. She made appearances on “Live with Regis and Kathy Lee”, “The Magic Hour”, Politically Incorrect”, “The
O’Rielly Factor”, CNN’s “Talk Back Live”, Trinidad and Tobago Carnival 2004″ for BET and “The Johnny Cockran Show” on Court TV. Chapter President, Wayne
C. Golding, Sr. noted, “Wendy is a perfect fit for this event. Her accomplishments in her homeland and on the world stage are an example of the
wonderful achievements of Caribbean women.”

Several scholarships will be awarded at the ball, and the Chapter will also recognize members of its diverse community who have helped to extend and
enhance the Caribbean Bar Association’s mantra to inform, educate and empower.

About the Caribbean Bar Association and its Central Florida Chapter: Founded in 1994, the Caribbean Bar Association (“CBA”) is a voluntary bar
