CCM President Dr. Dianna Davis Smith indicates: “In light of globalization and the current pandemic, education has been evolving to meet what’s best for learners; cultivating 21st century citizens for global impact must embrace all persons beyond the halls of academia.  Virtual Research Day 2021 on March 25, 2021 provides the unprecedented singular platform for all areas of study to be shared in Jamaica and across the globe.”

The Conference invites scholars, researchers, education practitioners and students’ proposal to submit papers for interactive sessions, virtual talks, and colloquia.

Deadline for Abstracts is January 31, 2021

The Conference will be held from 8:30 to 3:30 Jamaican time, presenters will address the following strands:

  • Critical Thinking and Virtual Classroom Management
  • Transitioning from Employability to Employment Readiness
  • Entrepreneurship and Innovation
  • Self-care in a Pandemic and Implications for Future Generations

This is yet another notable collaboration between the Education Task Force and the Catholic College of Mandeville, which indicates a fruitful relationship from the outset which both parties are committed to and will seek to expand and continue.  Leo Gilling Chair of JDTAN remarks, “It is indeed a pleasure to be in a continued relationship with the Catholic College of Mandeville.  As the JDTAN continues to deliver necessary intellectual remittances, we are happy to also support the creation of new knowledge through this research conference.

The JDETF is part of the Jamaica Diaspora Taskforce Action Network (JDTAN) which is led by Leo Gilling.

The Virtual Research Day will be accessible on the JDTAN JAMINAR platform.
