Canadian Designer uses Clothing to celebrate Jamaican National Heroes in an esteem manner.

Toronto, CAN, Oct.11/2005 – It was announced earlier today by Snr. Creative Director, Sir John Carlton, (Jamaican born), that JEAN-CAL, (the urban chic brand), will be adding a Business Suit Collection to its brand’s catalog, as a tribute to celebrate the life and time of the Jamaican National Heroes. The collection will be available to consumers in summer of 2006.

The Collection will celebrate the Lifestyle and Contributions made by these (7) individuals to the Jamaican community, both locally and internationally. It will consist of tailored designer suits representing each member of the seven (7) member group; which are N. Manley, M. Garvey, P. Bogle, G. Gordon,

A. Bustamante, S. Sharpe and Nanny, the only female within the group.

When asked, how much of an impact will Nanny (the only Jamaican female National Hero) has on the collection – The answer was clear

– Sir John Carlton was quoted saying, – “Jean-Cal plans on celebrating Nanny and all the other heroes in the way we would all see them today…Look around us and see how her spirit and drive lives on in today’s Jamaican women – who are viewed as one of the most influential group among today’s women…. Jean-Cal will definitely capture that spirit and confidents in the Nanny. M collection”.

I was privileged to a preview of the available samples and I have to admit, this will be a first choice pick among

business suit shoppers, and a must have among the Jamaican community. Not only for the quality workmanship, but also for what the collection represents, – “Achieving our goals despite life obstacles”. This is also shown in the packaging and labeling which sits as a constant reminder to the individual who will be purchasing and wearing these suits, as to why he or she can achieve ones objectives despite what life may throw at them.
