CFMAS Introduce New Award Category: Unsung Hero

Now Accepting Public Nominations Through To October 31, 2011

The Canadian Folk Music Awards (CFMAs) announced details today for a brand new award category, UNSUNG HERO. Submissions are open to the public from now to the end of October. The award will be presented during the SEVENTH ANNUAL CFMAs at the Isabel Bader Theatre, Victoria College, University of Toronto on Sunday, December 4th.  

The annual Unsung Hero award will recognize the exceptional contribution of an individual, group, or organization to any aspect of the Canadian folk, roots and world music scene, such as performance, promotion and presentation. Nominations from the public will be accepted for this category from now until October 31st. The recipient will be selected by a five-member jury, from the region where the awards will take place – in this case, for 2011, Central Canada (which includes Ontario, Quebec and Nunavut).
