On Wednesday, October 10th, Riddims Marketing will launch a community initiative entitled, Chat Bout – Community Conversations. The first in a series of bi-monthly presentations will take place at the Carver Ranches Library in West Park, at 6:00 pm. The event will feature a panel of experts in various fields consisting of Leslie Brown, Suzette Rochester Lloyd and Marlon Hill.
Speaking before the launch of their inaugural event, host and moderator, Ayesha NuRa states: “We recognize that there is a need to create a space for positive dialogues in our community. The current education system does not prepare us with basic life skills in school: how to improve our relationships with each other, with ourselves or even with Spirit; how to create and manage multiple streams of income and the best ways to invest so that we can create a future for our children; what mental health and self-care actually look like. We need help and we are going to provide it to each other for free.”
Experts Volunteer to Share Knowledge & Experience
The topics being discussed at the inaugural presentation are mental health, finances and voting/politics led by panelists who are experts in their fields.
Leslie Brown is a Professional Counselor with extensive experience working with veterans/veteran families, and men, women and their families in substance abuse recovery.
Suzette Rochester Lloyd, Chief Representative Officer, Victoria Mutual has over the years acquired extensive knowledge and experience, having served in various capacities at The Victoria Mutual Building Society (VMBS), one of the leading financial institutions in Jamaica.
Marlon Hill is a weekly commentator on his radio segment, “The People’s Politics”, every Saturday at 4pm on Caribbean Riddims, WZAB 880AM and a recurring contributor to WPLG Local 10 “This Week in South Florida” Roundtable. This panel of experts will share valuable information and answer questions that may arise from their presentation and the topics, in general.
“This is one small step in creating positive change at every level and layer of our society,” stated Eddy Edwards, CEO of Riddims Marketing. “Change starts on an individual basis and we hope that through the format of the Chat Bout series it will allow for many to learn, as well as share their own experiences in order for the community at large to both advance and connect.”
The Chat Bout series is sponsored by Jamaicans.com, WAVS Radio, National Weekly Newspaper and produced by Riddims Marketing in association with Hosanna 4 Youth, Inc. For further information call 954-251-1643 or CLICK HERE to register.
