Chefs To Show Versaitlity Of Jerk At Festival, July 22, 2012, New York

As the anticipation heightens for the 2nd Annual Grace Jamaican Jerk Festival – NY, slated for Sunday, July 22, at Roy Wilkins Park, Queens, renowned chefs Irie Spice (Hugh Sinclair) and Mazie Miller are confirmed to participate and prepare tasty Jerk creations to please the palates of patrons.

Mazie Miller, Grace Food’s Top Chef, will be whipping up tasty treats as she conducts cooking demonstrations featuring some of Grace Food’s newest products. Get ideas for lunch box snacks, hors d’oeuvres, and formal meals from Grace’s cooking expert who will impart some of her vast culinary knowledge and even answer questions from the audience. Miller, who has a distinguished career as a chef and is host of the popular television show “Cooking with Grace”, will give hands-on lessons to patrons interested in creating jerk dishes beyond the normal.


Hugh Sinclair aka Chef Irie, Personal Chef to the stars, known throughout South Florida as the Jamaican born chef with a sweet smile, great personality and an unprecedented gift for culinary creations will make his second appearance at the New York festival to once again wow foodies with his culinary creations and unusual take on Jerk cuisine. Chef Irie’s personal resume includes clients like, NBA 2012 Champion Miami HEAT Mario Chalmers former HEAT player Lamar Odom.

Chef Irie’s passion for food is evident in his creations, as no one ever walks away disappointed in any way once they “taste his hand”. Food has so inspired this Jamaican grown Johnson and Wales protégé who has a huge following through his blog, “The Inspired Chef”.   “I am especially honored to participate in this year’s Grace Jamaican Jerk Festival in New York as it is a labor of love for me. I totally enjoy the New York vibes and interacting with the audience as I share creative ways of preparing meals they will enjoy”.


The festival will also feature entertainment on the Main Stage headlined by reggae sensation Tarrus Riley, Fab 5 Band, comedians Ity & Fancy Cat as well as a Gospel segment featuring Prodigal Son, Eddie Neblett, Yankee B and Dunamis. Come ready to get your fill of spicy, delicious jerk delights, watch fiery cooking demonstrations, cheer on your favorite domino team and be entertained with cultural presentations featuring Braata Folk Singers and Andrew Clarke at the 2nd Annual Grace Jamaican Jerk Festival – New York. Advance tickets are $25 and patrons can purchase tickets now on the festival’s website, www.jerkfestivalNY.com and at selected Caribbean outlets. Children 12 years and under will be admitted free.
