The Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) is promising an evening of talent explosion and blessing on Sunday, May 25 at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre when the finalists compete in the National Finals of the JCDC/Grace Tropical Rhythms Jamaica Children’s Gospel Song Competition and close Child’s Month in fine style.
The 12th staging of the national competition is being held under the theme: “Blessed to be a Blessing” and will feature 24 finalists including choirs, ensembles and soloists in the 6-10 years old and 11-15 years old categories representing various communities, schools and churches across the island. The top two winners in each category will be awarded trophies, cash prizes and gift packages.
The anticipated event is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. with a special performance from guest artiste Levy’s Heritage, 2012 Jamaica Gospel Song Competition winner. JCDC Director of Marketing and Public Relations, Stephen Davidson notes that this year’s Finals is a ‘must see’ as it will “showcase the amazing talents of our children while reinforcing that our children are precious and invaluable gifts to be protected and treasured.”
Tickets for the Finals are now available at a cost of $700 presold, $800 at the gate for Adults and children under 12 years old, $300.00 with special group rates also available.
