Students of the Ascot Primary School in St. Catherine perform their winning entry Swing Low Sweet Chariot at the recently held 2018 Jamaica Children’s Gospel Song Competition National Final. Ascot took home the trophy for the Choir Category in the 6 – 10 years age group. Organized by the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC), an Agency of the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, the annual competition was held at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre in Kingston and saw the top 24 most soulful junior soloists, ensembles and choirs from across the island compete for a chance to take home cash prizes and trophies in addition to the competition’s prestigious titles.
