On June 26, 2010, thousands of music fans will return to the Chicago Caribbean JerkFest, a celebration of Caribbean culture and music, to celebrate all things Caribbean as the closing ceremony for Caribbean American Heritage Month – June 2010.
Everything about this event format is unique. Chitown JerkFest creates an authentic Caribbean ambience, where visitors feel as if they ‘aren’t in Chicago anymore’. There will be a wide variety of authentic ‘Caribbean’ food including vegetarian dishes, as well as, amateur and professional cooks competing for the title of “Best Jerk Cook” when they prepare dishes such as Jerk Chicken, Jerk Fish or Jerk Pork. There will be plenty of coconut water (authentic or canned), tropical fruit smoothies, soft drinks and ice cold beer.
