Community Appreciation Event Rescheduled To January 6, 2011 Due To Weather

The CPR Community Appreciation event scheduled for this evening, Wednesday December 29 has been postponed as a result of the adverse weather conditions. The event will now take place on Thursday, January 6 from 7:00Pm until midnight at 3Ten Lounge located at 310 Bowery between East Houston Street and Bleecker Street in Manhattan.

The event which was originally planned to take place during Kwanzaa will pay homage to the spirit and principles of Kwanzaa. As such, it will bring together members and supporters and their friends to celebrate the accomplishments of 2010, say thanks to all who contributed to those accomplishments and recommit to the mission of preserving reggae music. In the spirit of collective work and responsibility, the Culture Jam Radio Show, heard on WVIP, 93.5FM and known for its roots reggae programming will partner with CPR in this event with host Bobby Channel One and friends providing the musical entertainment.

The event is free and open to the public but all persons attending are asked to contribute age appropriate school supplies which will be distributed to basic school children in western Jamaica by the Mystic Bowie Cultural Center. Although the event is free, everyone is asked to RSVP by sending an email to [email protected] or by calling (718) 421-6927.
