The Caribbean People Masses Unity Committee (CPMUC) is the Lobbying Union and promotion organization within the Caribbean Unity Foundation CUF that advocates for Caribbean political union and promotes all types of Caribbean unity. CPMUC is created as an umbrella for organizations and individuals in the Caribbean and the Diaspora, with a mandate to promote the union of the Caribbean countries and populace for the Dutch, French, Spanish and English speaking countries.

We advocate, create and promote all types of Caribbean unity. Our goal is to engage our members and the general Caribbean community in economical, political, cultural, educational, and social development. The result of informing our community at large of the business, social, and economical opportunity is to expand and increase the trading and investment arena between countries both within and outside of the Caribbean Community.

One of the organizations we strongly advocate for is CARICOM, a trading block of 15 Caribbean countries: Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Bahamas, Belize, Dominica, Guyana, Grenada, Haiti, Jamaica, Montserrat, St Lucia, St Vincent and Grenadines, St. Kitts and Nevis, Suriname, Trinidad & Tobago. Cayman, Turks and Caicos, Bermuda are Associate Members.

CARICOM’s mandate is creating a single economic space that allows for harmonization of resources for betterment of each Member State that will remain Sovereign States. This Harmonization includes free movement of Labour, Customs, Single Currencies, Single Stock Market, and the Caribbean Court of Justice as a final appellate court replacing the Privy Council.

CPMUC is hosting The Canada Caricom Investment Trade and Business Networking Forum on August 25&26th, 2005 and is inviting you and your organization to grace us with your presence as well as participate as a sponsor for this event. This Forum (a detailed agenda is included in this package) will take place between 8:00am and 5:00pm and followed by the Caribbean Unity Dinner/Dance Celebration at 7:00pm.

The Keynote speaker for the Forum event will be the Program Manager for Caricom Single Economy Mr. Ivor Carryl. We will also have five Councilor Generals as presenters from Caricom countries with investment presentations during the afternoon session. The forum ends with a business networking session allowing businesses to interact and exchange information.

The purpose of this event is to help to enhance Canada-Caricom Trade and Economic relationship by educating Caribbean-Canadians and the wider Canadian business community about the benefits and opportunities of the Caribbean Community (Caricom). Benefits for Canadian businesses and the community, as well as benefits to CPMUC & CARICOM will be presented in further detail.

As a non-profit organization, our events are funded through sponsorships, corporate advertising, donations and cover charges for most events hosted by CPMUC. For our sponsors we are offering advertising packages at events, during radio time and in print publication, in addition to a complimentary package for the Forum and/or the Caribbean People Unity Celebration Dinner and Dance.
