Kittitian youth cricketer, Patrick Walters, was the Digicel guest at the toss for the Third and final Digicel One Day International at Warner Park on Friday morning.
Walters, a 16 year old, represented the St Kitts Under 15 team and is a member of the Kittitian Under 19 team. The off spinner, who attends Washington Archibald High School, is also a member of the Leewards Islands Under 17 team which toured Trinidad.
“It was good to be among the players and get a feel for the atmosphere in the West Indies team,” said Walters, shortly after meeting West Indies captain, Floyd Reifer, and Bangladesh skipper, Shakib Al Hasan.
Digicel selected Walters from the Keith Arthurton Cricket Center where he has been a member for the past eight years. Walters plays his club cricket for Len Harris Cricket Academy and aspires to play for the West Indies team in the future, but in the interim, he has his sights set on maintaining a place in the Leewards Under 19 team.
Bangladesh lead the three match Digicel ODI Series 2-0, with the one off Digicel Twenty20 taking place on Sunday to bring the Bangladesh tour of the Caribbean to a close.
