First Ever Culinary Fusion Of African And Caribbean Ingredients At BBC Good Food Show London, November 14-16, 2008, Kensington

The African and Caribbean Pavilion will be offering a heady fusion of e x citing, healthy and tasty food from around the world, when BBC Good Food Show London, takes place from 14-16 November, at Kensington Olympia .

It is the first year for the pavilion at the show and reflects a growing interest in African and Caribbean cooking .

The tasting platters in the pavilion will reflect the cultural influences on both African and Caribbean meals, from around the world, including countries such as Spain , France , India , China , Holland and Britain . The recipes on show will reflect the migration of people over the centuries settling on a huge range of places at different points of in world history.

Tropical Sun & Dragon Stout, Cockspur Rum, Might Veg Delights and Gold Coast Restaurant are among the leading names e x hibiting in the pavilion, which has been organised by Gleaner Voice Media .

BBC Good Food Show London Show Director Rebecca Reeves, said: “We’re delighted to be staging this pavilion for the first ever time, it is perfect timing really because the demand to know more about this style of cooking has never been higher.

“Sophistication and a particular delicate alchemy are the hallmarks of African and Caribbean fine dining .   Its cooking demands that the chef has a cultural understanding of the sensitive inter-relationship of mi x ing ingredients and a flare of daring in applying seasoning, choosing meats, herbs, spices and vegetable in order to create that ancestral dish . I’m sure this is going to be a hugely popular area and really broaden the appeal of what is a superb, distinctive and international cuisine . “

Visitors to the pavilion will be able to sample freely the very best of African and Caribbean nouveau cuisine, drink popular Island cocktails, buy hard to find authentic food produce and meet some of the biggest names within the African Caribbean business food sector .   It promises to reveal the best kept African Caribbean cooking secrets, from where to buy, to how to season and e x plains the little known health benefits of this cuisine .
