Kingston, Jamaica: – With the recent release of Freedom, his first single written and recorded in the ‘free world’, Jah Cure announces to the world: “Now the day has come you will see me again.” And see him we will, for the first time in Jamaica, Cure will perform a full length set on Sunday, October 14 at Longing For, the final night of the 3-day event aptly titled Curefest.
Curefest, the 3-day event celebrating Jah Cure’s freedom presented by Danger Promotions, Iyah Cure Promotions and Brass Gate Promotions is set for Friday, October 12 – Sunday, October 14, and will be held at 3 venues: Starfish Trelawny Hotel (Oct 12), Pier 1, Montego Bay (Oct 13) and Trelawny Multi Purpose Stadium (Oct 14).
Reflections on Friday October 12 is an all-inclusive birth night celebration party hosted by Jah Cure at the Starfish Trelawny Hotel. The night will feature Etana, Karen Smith, Live Wyya band, ZJ Smurf and ZJ Electra. Tickets cost $4,000 and the party will start promptly at 8PM.
45 Cure’s, the selector spin-off where radio DJ’s compete with Sound System DJ’s will be held at Pier 1 in Montego Bay on Saturday October 13 and hosted by MC Nuffy. The party will showcase major sound systems such as Danger Zone, Black Chiney, Stone Love and Rennaisance squaring off with popular radio DJ’s including Liquid of Zip FM and Sunshine of Irie FM. Tickets cost $1,000 and the party starts at 8PM.
Curefest’s grand finale: Longing For on Sunday October 14 will be held at the recently built Trelawny Multi Purpose Stadium. Ron Mushette, Elise Kelly, GT Taylor, Richie B & Big A will MC the concert. The stage will feature renowned artistes such as Barrington Levy, Beres Hammond, Capleton, Sizzla, Morgan Heritage, Ninja Man, Beenie Man and many others. Jah Cure himself will close the show, performing all his hit songs as well as new never before heard tracks. Tickets for Longing For start at $1,500 for general admission and go up to $10,000 for VVVIP. Showtime is 8PM.
