You may know her as Miss Jamaica International 2005 but Daisi Pollard, better known as Daisi Jo has added some new titles to her resume such as Cover Girl, Producer, Spokes Model and CEO. Beauty Queen, Daisi Pollard will be gracing the cover of Georgia’s highly profiled Jamaican magazine, Jam Vibez for the month of September. In a candid interview, Daisi opens up for the first time about her personal life and addresses facts many of her fans may not have known about her. Rounding up her pageant career in 2005, Daisi Pollard became the 1rst representative from a Caribbean nation to be crowned Miss Beauty Queen World 2005. Following her big win, Daisi Jo quickly disappeared from the spotlight last year after falling ill during a press event as a result of Viral Meningitis, a deadly viral infection that attacks the fluid in the spine. After spending the last 18 months going through a heavy recovery including physical therapy, Daisi Jo is back on top. Not only is Daisi gracing the cover of magazines but you can also see her on the runway during the Detroit Fashion Week at the end of September. In a recent sound bit Daisi was quoted, “ Meningitis hit me extremely hard and it has been a difficult and long recovery but I honestly have never felt better. This experience has been a great opportunity for me to slow down and the break really gave me time re-prioritize my life. I am so great full to have survived this tragic illness and I plan to use my experience to bring awareness to the dangers of Meningitis.”
Rounding up the 2007 season, Daisi Jo will be a making several appearances at Middle and High schools throughout southern California as a Spokes Model for a College Scholarship Program to remind young people of how important it is to further their education.
