As part of its ongoing efforts to help the people of St. Lucia recover from the devastation caused to the island by Hurricane Tomas at the weekend, Digicel, St. Lucia’s Bigger, Better Network will be touring the worst affected areas with free handsets and free call credit offers to ensure that its valued customers can stay connected to family and friends.

Over the next few days, the Digicel team will be visiting six communities in the south part of the island – namely Bexon, Canaries, Choiseul, Dennery, Laborie, Soufriere and Vieux Fort.

The schedule is as follows:

Friday 5th November – Canaries, Choiseul and Soufriere (11am to 3pm)

Saturday 6th November – Dennery (11am to 4pm), Laborie (11am to 4pm) and Vieux Fort (10 am to 4pm)

Monday 8th November – Bexon and Soufriere (11am to 3pm)

Customers purchasing over EC$15 of credit will receive EC$5 bonus credit, while customers topping up with EC$25 or more will receive a free handset. In addition, customers purchasing a new SIM card to replace a lost or damaged one will pay a slashed price of just EC$10 – and automatically receive EC$10 worth of Digicel credit.

In addition, over the last few days, Digicel St. Lucia – in conjunction with its sister operations in neighbouring Martinique and Dominica – has organised supply boats and shipment of over 60 tons of water, food and clothing to the south of the island. This aid has arrived and is now being distributed to those in need by Digicel employees and the St. Lucia Red Cross.

Geraldine Pitt, country manager for St. Lucia, comments; “We are as committed to doing as much as possible to help the people of St. Lucia to get through this difficult time as we are to keeping our customers connected to family and friends no matter what.”
