Dobby Dobson For 50th Anniversary Celebration In New York, August 4, 2012

Music lovers in NEW YORK will be in for a big treat when Dobby Dobson, becomes a part of the Jamaica 50th Independence celebration, hosted by Oliver Samuels and friends on August 4.

Dobson, nicknamed ‘The Loving Pauper’, is one of the great soulful voices of the rocksteady era. Among his many hits are Loving Pauper, Mexican Divorce and Muriel.

In 2011, he was recognised for his contribution to the music industry with the Order of Distinction (OD) in the rank of Officer by the Government of Jamaica on National Heroes Day.

​Patrons at this concert will witness for the first time, two legendary and prestigiously honoured performing artistes from Jamaica performing on the same stage in New York. Oliver Samuels and Dobby Dobson have both been awarded The Order of Distinction. This highly anticipated Jamaica 50th celebration will be one for the record books.
