Miami, Florida – September 10, 2008 – Jamaican born former President/CEO of Youth for Christ International, (YFCI) Dr. Gerry O. Gallimore, will be the keynote speaker at the 3rd Annual Educational Foundation for Children’s Care, Inc. (EFCCI) Fundraising Awards Dinner on Sunday September 21, 2008. Dr. Gallimore served for sixteen years as National Director of Jamaica’s Youth for Christ and six years as Area Director for YFC, America. He served two terms as President/CEO of YFCI, concluding his second term in August 1996, at which time he was appointed International Ambassador for YFCI. This year, the EFCCI will be paying tribute to some of South Florida’s finest youth and Caribbean community leaders who have demonstrated outstanding community service and made significant contributions to youth development.

The newly appointed Jamaican Consul General Sandra Grant-Griffiths along with other Caribbean American corporate representatives will be present at the Fundraising Awards Dinner. This event is scheduled to take place at the Signature Grand in Davie, Florida. The Educational Foundation for Children’s Care Inc. (EFCCI) is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is dedicated to helping underprivileged children and youth in the Caribbean and South Florida. The EFCCI’s mission is being accomplished through a variety of community initiatives and educational programs, including its flagship project—the establishment and maintenance of a children’s village in Clarendon, Jamaica.
