The Earthdance International Peace festival is the world’s largest synchronized music event supporting world peace and sustainability. The 15th annual Earthdance event will take place on the weekend of September 24th and will unite over 400 locations in 70 countries across the world to create the most conscious global festival of our time. After 8 successful years the festival’s hub event, Earthdance Northern California, outgrew its former site and found a new home at the Solano County Fairgrounds in Vallejo, CA (only 30 minutes from the Bay). Earthdance Northern California will take place on September 23rd, 24th, 25th and will unite an unprecedented line-up of international conscious musicians – over 70 acts – including ZIGGY MARLEY, GHOSTLAND OBSERVATORY, BRETT DENNEN, BALKAN BEAT BOX, BEATS ANTIQUE, EOTO, LES NUBIANS, THE COUP, IVAN NEVILLE’S DUMPSTAPHUNK, MIDNITE, ROOTZ UNDERGROUND, SEE-I (from Thievery Corporation), KARSH KALE, TIPPER, MIMOSA, GAUDI, OPIUO, EMANCIPATOR and so many others, plus visual artists, DJ’s, speakers and activists, who believe in a sustainable future for our planet.
Working with the theme of “unity in diversity”, the festival will host 6 MUSIC STAGES and 3 LATE NIGHT VENUES (at no extra cost). Highlights will include the PLAYA ART PROMENADE featuring the works of Karen Cusolito (Manu & Epiphany); “YOGA FOR PEACE” with internationally renowned yoga teachers – each class will be accompanied by live music by well known artists in the yoga community, including a few special guests from the festival main stage; an expanded kids village; daytime DJ POOLSIDE PARTIES at the Marriott Hotel showcasing west coast DJ collectives; SONIC CINEMA LOUNGE hosted in a 44ft dome complete with visionary video art, late night movies, acoustic state-of-the-art sonic massage beds, and 360 degree immersion video screens; a Wisdom Council featuring indigenous leaders from many nations; workshops and panels; an Activist Alley where festival patrons can interact with both local and international non-profit groups – these organizations will share information and workshops on relevant global and local issues, inspiring local participants to take a stand for the future of our planet.
A highlight of the festival will be a synchronized global link up, taking place on Saturday the 24th, when at 4pm (PST), Earthdance Northern California will synchronize with over 400 locations in 70 countries. At this precise moment, a specially created song called the “prayer for peace” will be played in every location at the same time.
The festival will also feature a wide variety of healthy vendors supplying many types of international foods and eco wares. Open meadow camping and hot showers are also available, including hotel packages at the Marriott hotel. Another exciting feature is the close proximity to 6 Flags Discovery Kingdom located directly across the road. All festival patrons will be offered discount tickets to experience 6 Flags Discovery Kingdom any time during the weekend.
By uniting our diverse communities through the universal platform of music and dance, the festival will send out a strong message of peace and global sustainability. Part proceeds from the festival will be donated to the Earthdance non-profit, A California based 501c3 organization.
