Staff WriterMavis Bank, situated in the cool hills of St. Andrew will come alive on Easter Monday, April 13, 2009 as Colours Production presents ‘Family Fun Day & Music in the Hills’.
This event is the first of its kind in Mavis Bank and promises to attract numbers from the rural community of St. Andrew as well as surrounding areas. This fun-filled event will take place at Scorpio Inn Lawns beginning at 12noon. There will be rides and games for the children and the young at heart, as well as performances from community groups and schools from the area in various art forms- traditional and current dances, speech and singing. In addition will be ring games, hula-hoop, drinking, and domino contest, clowns and magician. Popcorn, sno-cones, cotton candy and an array of foods and drinks will be available all day.
Gospel will arise at 6pm, when singing bird Noreta Lewis performs with Neikesha Kellyman and Bro Johnson from the Seventh Day Adventist Church, this section which will see persons on their feet clapping, singing and just giving praise.
The main stage will be set ablaze at 8pm with a sizzling line-up featuring the messenger -Luciano, George Nooks , the legendary Ken Boothe, Patriot and Queen Omega from Trinidad rocking the place to the musical sounds from the blazing band ‘Thunder’ …the night will climax with the ever popular sound system Ranger Force with DJ Everald, Fanho and other popular guest selectors….. blasting the hills until 2am………a one of a kind event set in the hills of Mavis Bank, St. Andrew for the Easter Weekend 2K9 !!!!!
