The 2014 edition of the Jamaica Children’s Gospel Song Competition continues with another elimination show on Friday, March 14 at the St. Mary’s Anglican Church Hall in Port Maria, St. Mary starting at 9:30 a.m. Entrants from the northern region will have the opportunity to impress the judges with their cover or original songs, as individuals, schools, youth, church and community groups vie for a place in the semi-final.
The fourth and final elimination will be held in the Eastern region on Friday, March 28 at the Rehoboth Gospel Assembly, 77 Constant Spring Road, Kingston 10. While the preliminary entry deadline has passed, persons can still participate in the competition by visiting their respective parish offices in the two remaining regions before the elimination show dates.
The Jamaica Children’s Gospel Song Competition is one of the JCDC’s signature programmes geared towards children between the ages of 6 and 15 years, as the JCDC continues its mission of unearthing new talents. The children are able to express themselves through any genre of music to spread the gospel in the solo, choir and ensemble categories.
The successful entrants from these eliminations will compete in the semi-final round, before going for national honours in the grand finale set for May in celebration Child’s Month.
