The Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) is staging a series of road shows as part of the ‘Experience Jamaica’ campaign, geared at encouraging persons living and working in Jamaica to enjoy more of the country’s tourism product and offerings at special rates.
The upcoming road shows will be held on Saturday, June 28, at the Portmore Mall, St. Catherine; July 12 at the Ocean Village Shopping Centre in Ocho Rios; and culminate over the Emancipation weekend at the Denbigh Agricultural, Industrial and Food Show, August 1 to 3 in Clarendon.
Road shows have already been held in Mandeville and Montego Bay.
Speaking with JIS News, Consultant for the Experience Jamaica campaign, Horace Phillips, explained that these events will feature a range of products, services, and entertainment from the businesses that operate in the local tourist industry.
“Tourism entities, including attractions, transportation, and hotels, will be exhibiting, providing information, special discounts, and giveaways to persons attending these road shows, all in an effort to heighten awareness about brand Jamaica and the sector’s product offering,” Mr. Phillips highlighted.
He informed that, under ‘Experience Jamaica’, some 120 tourism entities have partnered with the JTB, to offer special discounts of 10 to 50 per cent on accommodation, attractions, shopping, and ground transportation from April 1 to December 15, 2014.
“We have hotels in Kingston, Ocho Rios, Montego Bay, the South Coast, Negril, and Port Antonio, as well as attraction companies and a host of other entities, where persons can get that Jamaican experience,” Mr. Phillips added.
“I would like to encourage Jamaicans from all walks of life to make use of the offerings…whether it is a day-out at one of the attractions, a day-pass at one of the hotels, and taste, see, feel and enjoy more of the country’s tourism product,” he urged.
