The Granville Child Care Facility was established 55 years ago as a safe haven for children who could not return home for a number of reasons. At present it accommodates 57 girls aged 12 to 18 who are deemed in need of care and protection for having been abused, abandoned or neglected. Children from the 14 parishes across Jamaica are brought to this safe house where they are cared for while attending school. While at the facility, the girls are also provided counseling, vocational training, art and traditional academic subjects.
The Music & Arts Institute, where tuition is always FREE, was founded by Ras Astor Black in 1994. The institute, which is home to our Jammin in Jamaica with Everyone benefit event on January 6th, provides tuition free education to youth in all areas of the arts including music & video production, photography, culinary arts, radio production, broadcast journalism, marketing and advertising. www.bobartsinstitute.edu Jamaica 876-435-8401 calling from the USA 561-839-4495
