So. Florida Family Reggae Festival: Top International And Local Reggae Music Artists This Sunday, November 5, 2006 In Miami, FL

TOP INTERNATIONAL AND LOCAL REGGAE MUSIC ARTISTS PLUS ACTIIVITIES FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY IN STORE FOR THE SECOND ANNUAL SO. FLORIDA FAMILY REGGAE FESTIVAL THIS SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 5, 2006 IN MIAMI, FL

This weekend’s 2006 South Florida Family Reggae Festival is almost here with an exciting musical line-up set for this Sunday, November 5, 2006. The Festival will be held the beautiful Legion Memorial Park at 6447 NE 7th Ave (park entrance at the corner of Biscayne Blvd and NE 64th St.) in Miami, FL and is FREE for all attendees. Park gates open from 10am to 7pm.

International Reggae artists Nadine Sutherland and Chrisinti will headline this year’s festival, with Causion, Marijah, Shaze,, Natty Remo, Kehv, Zyon High, Evette and Sugar & Spice the Clowns featured in the South Florida Reggae Showcase artist line-up showcasing up and coming talent sponsored by C.E.D. Entertainment. All artists performing will be signing their CDs for fans as well as a special appearance by the legendary voice of Reggae superstar group Third World, William “Bunny Rugs” Clark, signing his new solo CD, “What A World.” Radio personality, Richie Rich (WAVS 1170AM) will serve as the day’s emcee of festivities. Local businesses, including Club Revolution and Broward Center for the Performing Arts, have donated prizes to be raffled off throughout the day.

The order of the day is to celebrate reggae and Caribbean culture as a part of the fabric of South Florida. This year’s South Florida Reggae Pioneer Award will honor a group of people hat brought and promoted Reggae music to the So Florida area in the early days, Cosmic Force Sound System, and it’s co-founder Paul Chin Quee. The Reggae Riddim Section supports Family Reggae Festival, Inc.’s goal of encouraging arts education for youth and will feature performances by some of South Florida’s most talented kids. Marijah, who is performing in the Showcase on stage, will also present a drumming workshop for all the children in attendance.

This event is produced by Family Reggae Festival, Inc., City of Miami’s Office of FACE (Film, Arts, Culture, and Entertainment), and Jamaica Awareness Inc. in association with various sponsors.
