For the past decade, Jamaican born, Bronx resident Clive “Kali” Drummond and some of his closest friends have been making the trek back home to attend the annual Jamaica Jazz & Blues Festival in Western Jamaica. Two years ago he toyed with the idea of hosting the ultimate beach party celebration in MoBay.
After mulling over the idea again last summer, he put together a team of like minded investors, and on Saturday, January 29, 2011, his dream will be realized at the trendy Tropical Beach, located behind the Sangster International Airport in Mobay. The event billed “Fantasy – the ultimate Jazz Fest all white beach party” is the hottest ticket in Mobay and Jamaicans in the Diaspora are gearing up to party in style and class.
“In terms of value for entertainment, we plan to raise the bar with the Fantasy Beach Party” Drummond said. “We plan to go into MoBay and set the place on fire! We plan to create a one of a kind party experience that will rival the best beach party that has ever been held in MoBay or Negril” he said.
To keep the tempo throbbing all day, his team has secured one of N.Y’s best selectors – DJ Richie Poo, who will spin vintage, dancehall and lovers rock reggae songs all day alongside DJ Liquid of Zip FM and Pieces Disco.
Other highlights will include a fashion show, an erotic wet T-shirt contest that will pit the sexiest girls from the Diaspora against the best that Jamaica has to offer.
“The Wet T shirt contest is an event that should not be missed. This is just one of many activities we have put in place for patrons that will make this one of the hottest beach parties MoBay has ever seen. It will certainly compliment and redefine the Jazz fest weekend celebrations this year” he promised.
